Meet the Youth Minister @ Blessed Sacrament Church, Joanna Manturowicz

 

Joanna was born and raised in Mississauga, ON. She has been involved in her home Parish, St. Maximilian Kolbe, since she was a little girl. After receiving her Communion & Reconciliation, she proceeded to serve as an altar server for 10 years. Right before receiving Confirmation, Joanna joined a Polish Vocal-Dance Group, performing all over Canada, the United States and Colombia. Soon enough, this parish became a huge part of her life. 

 

Joanna graduated from York University with a Bachelor of Sociology. Just as she began applying for Youth Ministry positions, she enrolled into St. Augustine's Seminary for her Master of Religious Education. While applying for Youth Ministry, God humbly called her to direct a Christian Camp in the Yukon, summer of 2018. Soon enough, she was honoured to lead the revival of youth, leading them closer to Christ as a Youth Minister at Blessed Sacrament Church, September of 2018.

She has spent the last 5 years before joining Blessed Sacrament, leading the youth and young adult ministry with Youth Teams of Our Lady (YTOL). She has been the Events Coordinator for this Marian youth movement for the last 3 years, planning and organizing events that allow youth all over Ontario to experience the love of Christ, through socials, song, and worship.

Her goal is to create the same kind of atmosphere here at Blessed Sacrament, allowing youth and members of all ages, to find their community, identity and purpose in God alone.

Joanna wants to make clear that she has an open door policy in her office and would warmly welcome all calls to connect with the youth, young adults and parents in our vibrant community.
